Beams of Light supports the learning process of disadvantaged children who lack access to formal education by cultivating in our teachers the practice of social entrepreneurship, in which they develop and implement solutions to social issues.
A Message From The Founder
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide free education to students in Sudan who have been struggling with attending school regularly, or who currently have no access to education at all. This is implemented through online learning tools and resources in order to inspire youth to pursue formal education.
Goals and Vision
Our vision is that in the future we can reach all students in Sudan. Beams of Light utilizes our learning platform and courses to change the lives of many.
Teacher support is a big part of our work. Volunteers have the opportunity to improve their skills through online training sessions provided by Beams of Light Academy.
We strive towards our work being formally recognized by institutions in Sudan.

#1. SDG4 Quality Education
The principles of SDG4 are to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education. Sudan has one of the largest numbers of out-of-school children. It’s estimated that over three million children here are not in the classroom. Beams of Light is dedicated to solving this issue by providing equal access to affordable education in order to eliminate wealth and gender disparities.
#2. Partnerships
Beams of Light has been recognized by Teachers Without Borders as an ideal, local platform for overcoming technological obstacles to education in Sudan. We are committed to building partnerships with other NGOs to create a more inclusive education for everyone, everywhere.
#3. Global Reach
Expanding our network is one of our main priorities, and we have so far succeeded in mobilizing a large number of volunteer teachers within Sudan and beyond to reach children prevented from receiving the education they deserve. Volunteers from the VUB have also contributed to the project by helping scale the impact of Beams of Light.
